Organized in partnership with Pesto Sea Group [ http://www.pestoseagroup.com ], the event was attended by around 80 captains, all embarked on yachts above 30m LOA, mostly accompanied by their partners, together with 20 top yacht managers and other sector key players. Activities at The Italian Job included golf and tennis classes and tournaments, yoga classes, spa and beauty farm treatments.
The first Italian Job doubles tennis tournament held at Hanbury Tennis Club was won by Alexander Buckley Bryce from Moncada Hispania who played in team with Barbara Ippoliti, whilst the tennis runners-up were Peter Chisholm (Captain of M/Y Monaco Wolf) and Carla Bellieni. The Louisiana golf tournament at the Garlenda Gof Club was won by Todd Hermann (Captain of M/Y Sai Ram) and his partner Lucy Warren (team handicap 27), whilst the runners up were Owen Jones (Captain of M/Y Diamond A) and his partner Melissa Twitt (team handicap 25). In 3rd place were Mario Filippi of Amico & Co partnered by Giorgio Rupnik of Boero YachtCoatings (team handicap 8).
A high impact, relaxing and “pampering” event, The Italian Job sets itself apart from the other events precisely for these characteristics: it is far away, both geographically and mentally, from the usual superyacht circuit, without the “assault” of the companies.
The Superyacht Group were again Media Partners of the event, whilst there were 6 technical Sponsors:
